Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for two-year colleges that is available on all DMACC campuses.
The Ankeny chapter is organized by Ronn Newby. They aim to service the community by hosting various fundraisers.
One of their current fundraisers, with funds going toward PTK itself, is the sale of their “Finals Stress Kits.” The kits are $25 each, and they include an assortment of goodies which include school supplies, coupons and discounts from various businesses, a coffee mug, a stress ball, snack food items (such as granola bars), and a DMACC draw-string bag.
The value of each stress kit is over $50, and the first 100 orders receive a bonus 8GB Thumb Drive. The sale will run until Friday, October 31, and students will be able to pick up their kits on November 11. To order go to go.dmacc.edu/clubs/Ankeny/phithetakappa.
They will also be hosting a few other fundraisers in the near future, such as: a Winter Coat Drive, a Z’Mariks macaroni and cheese sale on October 22 (Each bowl will be $3.50), and a Bake Sale on October 29.
