Passion for collegiate fashion

The Bookstore and the Student Activities Council partnered to put on “Passion for Colligate Fashion” Wednesday, October 9th in the commons area in Building five.

Volunteers gathered to present the show by coordinating outfits, organizing models and poses, as well as creating hair and make up looks. It was a great production with decorations, music and lights.

Lydia Halcomb, a DMACC student and volunteer model, had modeled previously for the Barbizon Modeling Agency and offered advice for those students with less posing experience.

Tino Alatore, a DMACC student and volunteer model, said he didn’t practice posing beforehand and that his plan for the stage was “just to look sexy”. Everyone in the audience enjoyed the entertainment. The show concluded with a “gangnam style” dance.

Those who attended received a 20% discount off of a single regularly priced piece of clothing in the bookstore on October 9th and 10th.

Lori reported the fashion show a success and said students took advantage of the opportunity for a discount. She received lots of positive feedback and there is talk of doing another fashion show sometime in the fall of next year.
