Ghostface is back in “Scream 7”

I have watched the “Scream” movies and loved them all. I get scared easily, and the Scream franchise is one of the only horror movies I can watch in the dark. I even have a Ghostface plush!

A few other horror/thriller movies I have watched are “Halloween” (2018 version), “Barbarian,” “The Mist,” and “The Happening.” I have watched a few other ones that aren’t as well-known. I can only watch these movies with other people, and I have to have the lights on.

“Scream” is pretty much the only horror movie I can watch by myself and with the lights off. I started watching the “Scream” movies at 15 with my dad and stepmom. They sat down and made me watch all five of them, and the sixth one when it came out. I think watching these movies with my dad made me feel safe, and I realized I wasn’t very scared of them.

“Scream 7” came out Feb. 27, 2026. It follows Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and her daughter Tatum (Isabel May. It also features Matthew Lillard and Courtney Cox. It is directed by Kevin Williamson, and it is his first time directing Scream. He is the director of “The Vampire Diaries” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”

Ghostface comes back and starts terrorizing Sidney, her daughter, and her friends. In this movie, there are jump scares and some great kill scenes! Sidney has kept the backstory of her personal life and her experiences away from her daughter. This leaves Tatum a little vulnerable to the murders with no personal training.

People who have watched the “Scream” franchise know that Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) is in every movie but the last one. There have also been a couple of other actors who are in a few movies. Those actors include Skeet Ulrich, Courtney Cox, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding.

I think these recurring actors being in these movies helps build the motive of the killers and builds suspense. When people start watching movies with the same people in it they start to like that character. It makes people worried that their favorite character might die. It gives the same suspense as when they had Drew Barrymore die in the opening scene of “Scream.”

The fact that many Scream fans saw Matthew Lillard in the cast makes us think he might be alive. It also hides who the killers are very well. The ending is probably one of the best endings of the Scream movies. Not because of who the killers are, but because of the way they utilize the technology in the end. Overall, I loved this movie, and I think more people should watch it!
